ArGoSoft FTP Server .NET supports all basic FTP commands, plus more features,
such as passive mode, resuming of file transfers, windows shortcuts (which is
unique to our server), also, SITE
commands, such as copying files on the server, compressing and uncompressing (ZIP)
files directly on the server, DOS shell on the server, and more.
It is built on the strong foundation, created by our Win32 FTP server,
which had been around for over 8 years. It is faster than our older version, and almost completely
(exception is ZIP/UNZIP site commands) is written in .NET, which makes it more stable
and reliable.
There is no limit on the number of users. New concept of user groups allows you to assing
different rights to users more efficiently. Options and user information can be stored
into the SQL database, which makes access to these values open, allowing developers
to create their own interfaces to the server.
Server has a "smart guessing" system, which attempts to track down suspicious activity,
and blacklist IP addresses which seem to be the originators of such activity.
We call it the Automatic Lockout system. It protects you
from "brute force" password guessing attempts, and other connections, which generate
errors.
Prerequisites for the FTP server are:
- Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 or Vista. The server will not work on Windows
98;
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 (Except for Windows Vista,
which already supports .NET 2.0);
- Windows Installer 3.1. Available from Windows Update...
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, or Microsoft SQL
Server 2005 is not required, but is recommended. If you decide not to use SQL, then automatic lockout, mentioned above,
will be disabled.
FTP server comes with a free 30 day license. The license code will be issued by
our validation server, when you run the program first time.
